Data fields in the header

I'm getting this error when I try to preview my report: The value expression
for the textbox 'RepairOrderID' refers to a field. Fields cannot be used in
page headers or footers.
I searched through the news groups and a found suggestion to replace:
Fields!RepairOrderID.Value
with
ReportItems!RepairOrderID.Value
I tried this, it compiles now but when the report renders "#Error" displays
where the RepairOrderID should appear. I found another suggestion to use the
First function this does not work either...
Can someone please help....?

DanLooks like your textbox is referring to itself. You need to refer to a
textbox from report body.
More reliable solution is to create read-only parameter with default value
from query and then to use this parameter in the page header textbox.

is textbox18, besides I'm explicitly qualifying the Value property with
Fields! or ReportItems!. How do I create a read-only parameter from
query...? I know this does not work.. SELECT @.PARAM = Value FROM Table

Create a parameter without Prompt , set its default value to From Query,
select your dataset and ReportOrderID as value field.

Data #ERROR in Report Manager but not Designer

Hi,

I'm running a report using MDX. In preview, the report displays correctly, but after deploying to Report Manager, where there were once numbers there is now '#Error'. The string fields display correctly, its just the numeric ones that are not working.

Any help is much appreciated.

Is anything coming back from the cube? Are dimension values being retrieved correctly?

It sounds as if the connectivity may not be working between the server and the cube.

There's not really too much security. There is one user who has access to everything and this is the credentials used in the data source.

The report uses a table and it has previously worked on a 2000 server but has recently migrated to 2005 (referencing a 2000 cube with a 2005 dll). Other similar reports using the same dll have migrated fine, except for one which keeps asking for a user name and password.

I've copied the code from the dll and added into the dataset and am still getting the same errors.. so the problem isn't with the dlls..|||

Well, that exhausted my short list of possibilities.

Are numeric cells using any type of formula? Aggregate can be a bit flaky.

Once I upload my report to Crystal enterprise and i do preview of that report i can see the print button in the crystal tool bar. But once i call the report via query string from my application that print button disappears! Can some one help me with that issue! that how i can get the print button enable for the reports which are being called from query strings!

The URL you are utilizing to interface is calling the DHTML viewer which does not include that by default. If you want to utilize the ActiveX viewer, you can try adding the "&init=actx" to the end of your querystring, however depending on how you're interfacing with the report this may or may not work. If it doesn't work (i.e. different .NET interface methods) you will need to change some parameters in the code, which I'm not sure exactly what it is but do a search on support site for the help file for Report Viewers and the full object model is listed there.

Customizing Toolbar in Reporting Service

I use SSRS 2005; i have a report with Drill down feature, connecting to another report. when i preview the report in the VS2005; i get a backup button in the RS toolbar to move from the second report to the main report after the drill down.

but once i deploy it on the server and when the user views the report on the web i dont get to see the BACK button.

Is it possible to do so?

There is no back button on the web-based toolbar. We thought that people would get confused with having a back button in the browser along with one on the toolbar. The back button on the browser will generally work except it will include other actions like toggles and sorts.|||
