Data Driven Subscriptions

Hi !!
I want to create a scheduled delivery, with email & file share used together
with a single execution on a report. This means that i will sent the report
attachment thru an email to the recipient, and the same time copy that report
using the file share in a folder. Is this possible to implement?
This is because, I can only execute the report only once due to an updation
being done to the database.
Thanks - PeteSubscriptions only support sending through 1 delivery extension. Have you
looked into setting up the report to run on an Execution snapshot? This
would allow you to control when the report will run and all renderings of
the report will come off the snapshot and not the data. You could then
create two subscriptions running off either a shared schedule of when the
report execution snapshot is updated.

Data Driven Subscription with no results

I have a data driven subscription that is set up to email and uses a sql statement to generate the delivery settings and report parameters for each recipient (so each person does not reveive one email per row in the result set). I'm told that this is a good work around for creating a subscription that will NOT fire an email if there are no results returned, however I can not seem to get this to work...it continues to send an email with a blank report if there is no data for the previous day. Any thoughts/help would be appreciated. thanks in advance! If you want a fixed recipient list you want to do the following:

Assume your report data set comes from table DataTable, Pseudo SQL:
select Top 1 * from DataTable where InsertDate >= DATEADD(day, -1, GETDATE())

This will return exactly one row (one delivery) anytime there is data to report on. If you have multiple data sets in your report you'll need to play with the Joins to get this behavior.

Then in your subscription in the TO field, provide the static list of recipients.

If you need a dynamic list of recipients, I'd write a stored proc that returns the list of recipients if there was data in the DataTable, or no rows if there wasn't.

Data Driven subscription not working for PDF, IMAGE

Hi,
I worked on SQL Server tutorials in Books online, "Data Driven
Subscription". In this tutorial, reports are delivered via email on a
scheduled time. as per the tutorial emails are being delivered in "MHTML"
format but it does not deliver the report in "PDF" or "Image" format. The
report manager shows a status message that there was an error but there is
no way to know the exact error. It just says "1 errors". The reprot is
working absolutely fine as it is being delivered in "MHTML" format but not
in "PDF" or "IMAGE". Please assist.
Regards
GinnyJust check in errorlog file for any specific errors. Just manually run the
same report and see whether it gives the same error.

Data Driven Subscription multi-line email content

I am trying to set up a data driven subscription where one of the fields
returned from the query is sent as the content of the email.
This works fine for a one line email by selecting that column in the
Comment field of the delivery extension screen but I need to create a
multi-line email.
I have tried storing the field with CHAR(13) & CHAR(10) separators in the
table but it still displays on one line when RS sends the email.
Does anyone know if this is possible and how I can achieve it ?The comment can be HTML. So make the comment use html to render on multiple
lines.

Data driven subscription

I have create a data driven subscription that should email to to different people. It is sent to one but not the other. if I set up a normal subscription to the email it works. I can not see anywhere in the log the problem. Any Ideas on how to find out what is causing it.

What is a subscription status in a Report Manager after it's executed?

If it's like ‘Done: {1} processed of {1} total;’ then everything worked fine. Your data driven (DD) query returned just one user to send email to.

If it's like ‘Done: {1} processed of {3} total; {2} errors’ then yes, two subscriptions failed. In that case you can find error details in the logfile. Subscription processing error details are logged into files like ReportServerService__<datetime>.log located at <Program Files>\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.#\Reporting Services\LogFiles.

|||Also as you can see a subsscription ran at 10:45 But i do not see any log after 8:37 am this morning could loggin be turned off?|||

Second subscription at 10:45 (data driven) had one user to send e-mail to and it's processing failed. Please find error details in the RS windows service logfile.

|||What is the log filename?|||ReportServerService__12_21_2006_00_08_25.log|||

Any chance there is another file ReportServerService__12_21_2006_hh_mm_ss.log created later that contains records for 10:45 subscription? Or any chance that there is another RS instance sharing same database, and that instance procesed 10:45 subscription? Logging is turned OFF by either removing ReportingServicesService.exe.config from Reporting Services\ReportServer\Bin directory or by setting DefaultTraceSwitch value to 0 in this config file. If none of options above explains why you don't see logging for 10:45 subscription then I don't have an explanation.

GinnyHi Ginny,
To know the exact error you will have to look into the ReportServer log
file; its default location is
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting
Services\LogFiles
Look at the latest ReportServerService__<time stamp>.log file for
description of the error.

Data Driven Published Report - Not displaying recipients

I'm setting up my first data driven published report. I have a very simple
query that goes out and returns a list of email recipients. I enter my SQL,
then click "validate" and the server says that it has successfully validated
my query. This SHOULD allow the fields in the subsequent form to be
populated with my returned field list. However, the "Database Fields" drop
down in the delivery extension form only shows one blank line. When i select
that line, i get the error "Blank database field names cannot be used"
Where did my field names go?
TIA,

www.si-intl.comMake sure that the query has a column name for the email recipients. You
may need to add an 'As suchandsuch' to get a column name.

Aliasing my one returned "email_address" field was something i tried, but to
no avail. My query simply returns one field, "email_address". I've also
validated that the query correctly returns 3 records when ran directly
against the database.
The database is Informix, using ODBC for connections. It validates just
fine, still no fields showing up though. This is looking more and more like
a bug.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Brian

just fine. So, the problem seems to only occurr when using an ODBC
connection to get the list of recipients.

Data drive subscritpion sQL2000- Hide parameter for email recipien

Hi,
I am looking for a way to hide the parameter input fields in the report. I
want to avoid that customer could modify his assigned parameter. If I disable
option in report property "prompt for user" (I have German version
"Eingabeaufforderung für Benutzer") I cannot assign parameter from my "data
driven" source.
Thanks for help.Hi,
I would "normally" get what I want if I attach report to mail and not the
link. But everytime I try this the scheduled execution fails. If I try it
with a simple test report it works fine. In My report I use a dynamic MDX
query like
="With meber..." & Parameters!Para1.Value & ...
Maybe here is the issue?

I need a domain user instead of sql authentication (sa user) in the
datasource property. Then the execution of report works unattended and can be
emailed.
