Data "architect"?

I see the term data architect a lot in this industry, and indeed, that is
what many of us do. But in many U.S. states, it is illegal to hold yourself
out as an "architect" (apparently of any sort) without being certified as an
architect for buildings. I'm curious if others have considered this issue,
or run across problems using "data architect" on their business cards and
such?no.
you're not claiming to be an "Architect" you're claiming to be a "Data
Architect"
I got this crap in Florida too for having a title of "Software Engineer".
Its Horse Hockey
www.salary.com lists these job titles as legitimate industry job titles so
go with it.

Actually Earl - the term Architect is reserved for as you say building
Architects, and also Navel Architects (they design ships) and bizarrely -
Golf Course Architect. (by the way this is all from amazingly archaic UK
legislation so it does vary from state to state and country to country).
Theoretically any other use of the job title Architect is up for dispute.

These are theonly lenses that require the user to carry a screwdriver
